Every month we read news about big companies getting smacked by Mr. Panda and Mrs. Penguin. Its like Google is continuously working to target big giants. Last Week Matt Cutts discussed regarding a Panda at SMX. Its seems that Digg has been suffering with this update? Google has de-indexed Digg from its Search Engine.
When we try to find “Digg” in Google we will see following outcomes:
There is no result of digg.com in google search result.
Digg is a popular social site and there are millions of spammers who post daily links to spam websites. May be this is the reason Google slapped it and ban it. Digg is also introducing its own Reader after the retirement news of Google Reader, which showing some connections between Google Vs. Digg.
Digg is totally de-indexed as you will see in the following results below, Digg has stopped being shown in the SERPS:
Digg has been introduced in 2004 by Rose. This site also gets credit in Web 2.0 Technology. There is no official statement from Google regarding de-indexing of Digg yet. Its expected few updates come in the next few hours.
Update:
Digg is back to Google search, its look there is some other problem which Google fixed. Here is response from Google officials about this issue
